Summer Solstice 2005
Hi, I'm Laura. I run this site. I also do some other things.

I'm a librarian (or at least half a librarian). I work in the children's room of a library in the suburbs of Chicago, and I go to library school at Dominican.

Recently, I put together a Librarians' Guide to Some of Alternative Chicago [.pdf] for Radical Reference and the American Library Association annual conference in Chicago. You can also download some maps [.pdf] to go with it.

I also run a blog called lis.dom, "the highly unofficial Dominican University GSLIS blog." If you're in library school, especially at Dominican, you might find it interesting.

I have another part-time job walking dogs, although I am really a cat person.
