• Ani WebSearch Index--serving all your Ani needs.
• Riot Grrl Guide for the Perplexed and other such stuff--certainly not the only site out there, but it's a place to start.
• The Internet Movie Database--a most useful reference, searchable by just about anything under the sun.
• the Des Moines Register--one of my favorite newspapers, and as far as I know the only one which displays its editorial cartoon on the front page--also home to Donald Kaul, a columnist who has my undying respect for being the only person not to turn into a Nixon apologist as soon as Tricky Dick croaked.
• ICON--the people who actually pay me to write.
• A chronology of Vassar History Yeah, I went to school there--and this chronology was partially compiled by my old housemate, David Ley.

  • Timothy McSweeney's Internet Tendency and Fireland Text Products, Inc. are both prettier and funnier than my site, but aside from these flaws, they do have the great boon of both being all about text, which we approve of here at The New Rambler, and I so I advocate checking them out.
  • Doonesbury Electronic Town Hall--Definitely worth the loading time. There's tons-o-fun to be had on this website, from really funny FAQs to a current events quiz which changes daily (I believe) to a searchable database of all the Doonesbury strips ever run, which is a Godsend if you're like me and wake up in the middle of the night thinking, "When was that strip when Mike was convinced Zonker was hallucinating the Iran-Contra affair?" Okay, maybe I've just revealed more about myself than I should. . . but check it out.
  • Scene Unseen--the homepage of the radio show I used to cohost--check out some excellent regional music from the Hudson River Valley.

  • The New York Times--sort of like home delivery but without getting ink all over your fingers.
  • Prairie Lights Books--the best bookstore ever, in the opinion of many.
  • This American Life--Well, even though they didn't give me an internship, they're still the best show on the radio. And they're in Chicago! And you can listen to almost every show they've done here for free!
  • National Public Radio--Speaking of radio. . . I couldn't leave these folks out. A most excellent resource--the Real Audio archives go back to about 1995.
