How well I remember the two caucuses in Mt Vernon in 11976. The chairman of the Art department struggled to maintain order at mine. The other one consisted of your dad & the chairmen of the Philosphy & (I think) Chemistry dep'ts. Don't know whethe sherry was served.

A good friend of mine has said she'll be amazed if Obama doesn't get assassinated. Ghoulish, perhaps, but unfortunately probably not implausible.

You and your readers might be interested to know that my wife has earned a degree as a POLITICAL JUNKIE. The diploma hangs on our bedroom wall. It was awarded by an adjunct faculty member at Florida Keys Community College in Key West. Henry Woods, the seminar leader, grew up with Bill Clinton, worked for him and other Arkansas politicians in Washington for a number of years, and is therefore a Hillary backer. Henry's view (this is some weeks ago) is that Hillary will take the vice presidential spot on the ticket, if offered. Some others believe that her fierce and relentless campaigning is aimed now at making it impossible for Obama not to choose her. And I add, though this is admittedly somewhat ghoulish, that more than one friend of mine has observed that Obama is the perfect target for the next presidential assassination. Let's hope not.
