Night Sweats: My Book

As regular readers of this blog probably know, last year I had a baby. In the year when I was in the process of being pregnant with that baby, I also wrote a book, and it is now for sale. Half the proceeds go to Our Bodies, Ourselves.

I owe a great deal to my friends and family and also to my friends in libraryland. Without their help, both the baby and the book would have been impossible.

I chose to self-publish this book for a lot of reasons, and in the coming days and weeks I’ll be talking here more about that choice and about other things book-related. In the meantime, if you like what you read here at all, please take a looksee at the book. You might like it, too.

  1. Hi, Laura. I love the book. You’re so good at taking the edge off these extreme emotions we all have sometime. I found the book engaged me better than most novels I read. Maybe that’s because I know you and Iowa City. I do feel like I now know more about you and your family than I should, but I guess you did publish it.

  2. Thanks, Katharine! I’m glad you enjoyed it. There’s always a weird quality to reading a memoir by someone you know, but it’s a hazard of living in Iowa City, I think.
